I've eaten at this restaurant maybe 8-10 times. They have wooden chairs and tables (nothing fancy), but their service is great, and their dishes are so delicious. My favorite appetizer is the fried calamari. Each piece melts in your mouth. Please be aware, they automatically add a 20% tip on the check. I didn't realize until my last visit, I erroneously gave a generous 40% tip. I've also ordered takeout via Uber Eats. We always order Babaghanoush, Falafel, and our favorite large platters. I normally get my favorite, Chicken Adana, but I tried their Chicken Gyro this time. It was good, but I still like the Adana more. My kid loves the Chicken Shish Kebab. We will be back for more.

This place is not cheap, but the food rocks. It's also next to a TJ Maxx w a parking garage. The mixed grill & soup are so good! Thinking about them is making me hungry.

Family passes by everyday after the gym, and decided to pick up a take out menu. Glad we did. Ordered a variety of foods, cold appetizer platter, lamb Adana, chicken and lamb gyro, yogurtlu lamb, and rib eye steak, some fries. All of it arrived fresh. Picky kids ate their selections. Prices were excellent. We compared them to Taci Beyti on Coney Island Avenue which is out normal go to Turkish. Food quality and flavor is comparable but the prices are at least 1/3 cheaper. We will order from here again in the future.

Came to Aksaray with a friend who recommended it for dinner. It was an interesting layout where you can order take out once you walk in, and the dine-in portion is on the right side. It looks fairly clean and we were to sit down to any open table. They don't have a cup of water, so don't be surprised when they give you a bottle of water and charge you for it. We ordered hummus and Turkish eggplant for our appetizer and a order of chicken kabab and a order of lamb kabab. The hummus and eggplants were good as we dipped our bread in the spread (which they provide after you order). Once our entrees came out, the chicken was flavorful and juicy. Having rice and the onions was a good touch to have with the chicken and their lamd kabab was really good too. The lamb wasn't gamey and was not dry. Been to a handful a places where you can smell the gameyness and served the lamb dry, but Aksaray did a good was the opposite. Overall, the food was great! Think it's a nice find since it kind of hidden away from the main street. Their service was alright, but the worst but not the best either. Would come back again to Aksaray and try other dishes on their menu.

Very unassuming looking, hole in a wall café that surprises with great flavors. The prices are very reasonable and portions filling, so you will leave full and not broke. Always a lot of people eating in/getting take out, so you know the food is fresh. Service is respectful. You won't be rushed to finish your meal, even when you're taking a long time to talk with your friends over one bowl of lentil soup. The, Lentil soup $5, by the way, is hearty and a great choice for colder months. Shephard's pie [$5, $7 medium, $10 large] is simple, just tomatoes, cucumbers, and feta, so I'd skip because I can make better myself, but if you're craving a simple salad, this could work. The turkish bread become stale quickly, so I prefer their pitas [complementary for meat dishes]. Calves Liver $10 portion is not big, more to tease your appetite. Pretty well done if you enjoy liver. Babaghanous $5 is delicious--one of the best in all Brooklyn, definitely get it. Mixed grill karisik $24, the most expensive item on the menu, is good to share for two, if you're also getting appetizers in addition. The portion includes rice, cabbage salad, a haljapeno, gyro, adana kebab, and shish kebab. The meats are well prepared, so any meat lover will be happy with this choice.
